3 Cocktails to Make for Your Oscars Watch Party That Are as Glam as the Event Itself

It’s the most exciting season of the year—and no, we're not talking about spring. It's award season!

With hosting any viewing party, it’s crucial to provide some fun snacks and drinks to make the night memorable—but it’s especially necessary during the most glamorous award show of the season, the Oscars. Get ready to roll out the red carpet for these paparazzi-ready cocktails.

3 Cocktails to Premiere at Your Oscar's Watch Party

Peter Som, an award-winning fashion designer, culinary creator, and lifestyle expert whose work ranges from being a creative consultant for Tommy Hilfiger to publishing his own cooking blog, recommends a custom cocktail for your viewing party. His choice: the Glitter Mocha Mudslide, a fun alternative to the espresso martini (a drink as famous as some of the nominated celebs).

“It’s an espresso martini with the volume turned up, re-imagined, and chicly served in a martini glass or coupe,” Som said in a press release. The addition of a gold leaf rim, which “lasts practically forever in your pantry,” adds “that bit of glam that’ll take a cocktail from every day to special occasion.”

To make Som’s Glitter Mocha Mudslide, start by moistening half the rim of the glass with water and dipping it into gold flakes on a plate until they stick. Next, add 1 ounce of vodka, 1 ounce of coffee liqueur, half of an ounce of Irish whiskey, 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder, 2 ounces of Califia Farms Pure Black Sweetened Iced Coffee, and 2 ounces of Califia Organic Brown Sugar Almond Creamer to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake until chilled, strain into your gold-rimmed glasses, and enjoy the glitz and glam.

If you're a self-proclaimed cinephile and you’d like something more niche, use your favorite film on the docket as inspiration.

Barbie earned eight nominations from the Academy this year—and you really can never go wrong with a fun, flirty drink. Creator @chloe_dillon on TikTok made her own sparkly version by combining pink dragonfruit juice, lemon, lemonade, vodka, ice, and edible glitter into a drink that practically screams "Hey, Barbie!" The video has more than 9.9 million views and 1.4 million likes.

And with the Barbenheimer phenomenon that defined the summer, you might as well also concoct a beverage based on the film that's racked up more nominations than any other this year. Created by @thechelsearoom on TikTok, the Oppenheimer drink is a martini served in a glass rimmed with honey and lime juice (which @thechelsearoom claims Oppenheimer himself serves up in the movie).

To create it, combine a small bit of vermouth, four ounces of gin, and one large ice cube in a shaker. Strain into your glass without a garnish (you already have your rim set up), and you’ve got the a drink Christopher Nolan himself would admire.
